Community Voices in Recovery – Addiction Among the LGBTQ+ Community

Chances are good that addiction treatment providers have patients who identify as LGBTQ+. Although healthcare spaces should be protected and safe places for patients, this isn’t always the case for minoritized groups. This reality makes it vitally important to provide culturally considerate care, and this module offers tools for you to best support your clients or learn when to refer people to LGBTQ+ friendly resources that facilitate maintaining long-term recovery from addiction.

Learners will earn 1.0 hour of continuing education (CE) credit for completing this module, which includes passing a 10-question post-module quiz.

M-TAC strongly recommends that learners complete the Primary Course Series prior to completing any of the Supplemental Course Series modules to gain foundational knowledge about addiction along with specific tips and tactics for treating marginalized patients.
