This training will provide valuable guidance and insight on effective ways to promote your organization’s problem gambling services in your community. Participants will step away with ideas and strategies for disseminating promotional materials. This training is interactive. We expect participants to come to the training prepared to engage in creative discussion, ideally with cameras on and microphones functioning.

Instructor Bios
Instructor #1: Caitlyn Matykiewicz, MPH; Technical Assistance Coordinator for the Massachusetts Technical Assistance Center for Problem Gambling Treatment and Community Health Educator at the Division on Addiction at Cambridge Health Alliance. Ms. Matykiewicz has developed and facilitated in-person and online training on a variety of topics pertaining to Gambling Disorder (including promoting problem gambling services) for Massachusetts social workers, mental health and addiction specialists, healthcare specialists, and peer recovery specialists and support staff. Ms. Matykiewicz manages the Division on Addiction’s social media accounts, which promote addiction-related information and resources to the general public.
Instructor #2: Shantel Mercedes, MPH; is a Program Associate on the Strategic Planning and Organizational Effectiveness team at HRiA, with a focus on problem gambling projects. Shantel has experience working in health equity, administration, and DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) subject matters and approaches. She has a BA in Public Health and Health Equity from Mills College and an MPH focused on Health Equity from Simmons University.

- Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) – The Massachusetts Technical Assistance Center for Problem Gambling Treatment is authorized by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to sponsor, conduct or approve continuing education programs for alcohol and drug counselors/assistants (LADCs). This program offers 1 continuing education credit.
