Project Build Up

Project Build Up (PBU) is a program designed to strengthen the capacity of the workforce in outpatient substance use and gambling treatment agencies to provide or promote gambling treatment services, with an emphasis on addressing the disproportionate impact of problem gambling on communities of color.  

PBU is a Grant and Technical Assistance Initiative sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s (MDPH) Office of Problem Gambling Services (OPGS) and administered by Health Resources in Action (HRiA). To apply for this opportunity please reach out to [email protected]

Expressions of Addiction

Expressions of Addiction is an exhibit of original photographic portraits that depict people during various stages and expressions of addiction. Each portrait includes a biographical information about each subject derived from in person interviews. These photographs are part of an exhibition that will help the public better understand addiction by reaching thousands through gallery exhibitions, television programming, and the internet.

Your First Step to Change

Your First Step to Change is a collection of self-change toolkits available to the public, free of charge. Many people change their excessive behavior patterns without entering treatment. These toolkits are for individuals who would like help making a change or want information about their own risky behavior. Available in multiple languages.

Gambling Outpatient Counseling Services Contracted with the MA Department of Public Health (DPH)

List containing gambling treatment services that are contracted by DPH’s Office of Problem Gambling Services, in collaboration with DPH’s Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. At all sites:
• Treatment is available regardless of insurance coverage (in the absence of insurance, DPH is the payor of last resort).
• Translation services are available upon request.

Practice Guidelines for Treating Gambling-Related Problems
