DESCRIPTION:This training counts toward the MA PGS Certificate Fundamental Coursework \nThis training is for providers serving veterans and will focus on identifying and addressing problem gambling with veteran clients. The learning objectives of  this training are as follows: \n\nDistinguish between social and problem gambling\nIdentify consequences of problem gambling\nIdentify veteran populations at risk for problem gambling\nDefine addiction and its signs\nDistinguish between gambling and substance use disorder\nPractice addressing addiction\nName support resources\n\nCEUs for the following program are available through this course: \nLicensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors: \n\nMA Technical Assistance Center for Problem Gambling Treatment is authorized by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to sponsor\, conduct or approve continuing education programs for alcohol and drug counselors/assistants (LADCs).\n\nParticipant stipends are available for those who attend.

The Division on Addiction maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This program offers 1.0 continuing education credits.\n\nCounselors: \n\nThe Division on Addiction has been approved by National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider\, ACEP No. 6121.
